SomnoDent Avant® is a custom-milled oral appliance with a b-flex Comfort Liner®, designed for long-lasting comfort, secure retention, and effective sleep apnea treatment while encouraging nasal breathing and reducing snoring.
SomnoDent Avant® is SomnoMed’s most comfortable appliance. The upper and lower splints are computer-designed and manufactured using a single piece of dental acrylic shaped to your teeth. This method makes the splints stronger and helps them last longer.
The appliance includes the b-flex Comfort Liner®, which supports and cradles the teeth. The liner cushions the device, improves comfort, and helps maintain retention so the appliance does not fall off during sleep. Increased comfort supports better nightly use and, as a result, more effective treatment for sleep apnea.
The design of SomnoDent Avant gently closes the mouth to encourage nasal breathing during sleep. This helps eliminate snoring for most users and reduces dry mouth, a common concern with other oral appliances and with CPAP therapy.
Manufacturing begins with a digital photo of your teeth provided by your dentist.
SomnoMed designs the appliance using Computer-Assisted Design (CAD) software based on your teeth and jaw shape.
The device is milled from a single piece of dental plastic using computer-controlled milling robots, as testing shows this produces stronger appliances.
The soft b-flex inner liner is added for comfort.
The appliance is polished to remove sharp edges and ensure comfortable wear.
Each appliance is tested on a 3D-printed model of your teeth to confirm fit, retention, and accuracy before shipment to your dentist.
