Sleep Profiler PSG2™ is a virtually wireless, 13-channel Type II home polysomnography system combining EEG sleep staging with cardio-respiratory monitoring, guided self-application, and automated analysis for accurate unattended sleep studies.
The Sleep Profiler PSG2™ combines the accuracy and flexibility of the Sleep Profiler™ with additional cardio-respiratory signals required for a Type II unattended, virtually wireless polysomnography study.
This 13-channel system records EEG, EOG, and EMG, along with wireless oximetry, nasal pressure/airflow, chest and abdominal respiratory effort (RIP or piezo), forehead and finger pulse rate, head movement and position, and quantitative snoring.
The Sleep Profiler PSG2™ is the only home sleep apnea test (HSAT) that uses voice messages to guide patients in correctly self-applying the sensors. Real-time identification of poor airflow or oximetry signal quality activates corrective voice prompts, contributing to an industry-leading 94% success rate for Type II studies.
The web-based software allows selection of 3% or 4% desaturation criteria, with auto-scored apnea–hypopnea indexes based on AASM 2012 and AASM 2007 scoring rules, as well as automated detection of poor signal quality.
Includes all editing and reporting features of the Sleep Profiler, plus:
- Detection of apneas, hypopnea-desaturations, and hypopnea-arousals
- Differentiation between obstructive and central apneas
- Assessment of hypoxemic exposure during sleep
- Evaluation of REM and positional effects on OSA severity
- Analysis of positional snoring frequency and intensity
- Power spectral characteristics of sleep stages
PSG2 enables clinicians to conduct unattended polysomnography studies accurately and efficiently, including ruling out potential false-negative Type III study results, and providing PSG studies for patients who are:
- Hospitalized and need to qualify for CPAP reimbursement
- In need of testing due to co-morbidities, but unable to schedule a laboratory study
- Unable to sleep during an in-lab PSG
- Suspected of upper airway resistance syndrome
- Suspected of having neurodegenerative disease
PSG2 allows researchers to evaluate the interaction between sleep architecture, hypoxemia, and sleep position on sleep-disordered breathing severity, including analysis of:
- REM and non-REM apnea/hypopnea indexes
- Snoring above 30, 40, 50, and 60 dB by position
- Number of hypopneas confirmed by arousals versus desaturations by position
- Number of apnea and hypopnea events by position
- 3% and 4% oxygen desaturation indexes by position
